REST IN PIECE

I'm a regular viewer of various award shows during the annual award season. One award show moment that stands out in recent memory is Chris Rock's turn as the 2022 Oscars co-host (or guest host?) during the #OscarsSoWhite controversy. His opening was powerful, but what really got everyone talking was when Smith approached Chris Rock and hit him in the face after he made a joke about Jada's shaved head.  It was shocking and awkward for everyone in the room. And how someone can be so fucking arrogant and stupid on live TV? It overshadowed everything,  for fuck's sake! While it made headlines, it's definitely NOT my personal favorite. Another memorable Oscars host was Jimmy Kimmel. He hosted the Oscars in 2017 and addressed the infamous Best Picture mix-up, where "La La Land" was initially announced as the winner instead of "Moonlight." Barbie : "I started to get all this weird feeling like I have a fear with no specific objects, what is that?" Woman : "Anxiety. I have that too" I watched Barbie last week with my friend, and this line has been stuck in my head ever since. Greta Gerwig totally nailed it by making Barbie so relatable, I totally dig how she humanized Barbie, giving her feelings, anxiety, insecurity, and an existential crisis, just like us humans. It's like Barbie's one of us! This movie is seriously the best one I've seen in a while, tackling so many social issues in such a fun way.  I was thinking about writing a Barbie movie review in this blog, but nah, that's not my thing. And nobody gives a shit anyway. I'm just a regular moviegoer, not some pro reviewers. I mean, I can't write those fancy reviews like the pros do. But you know what?
